Pre-Diabetes Awareness Graphic Novel

Ramiro goes to a festival only to get the sudden news that he is Pre-Diabetic. Without any prior knowledge about Pre-Diabetes, he suddenly feels stressed about his health and social life. However, after receiving advice from his grandmother, he finds the National Diabetes Prevention Program, a real program that aims to prevent Diabetes through the implementation of local community programs. This story is nestled inside Story Steps Health, an app I also developed with Dr. Joiner.

To create this comic, I first story-boarded the entire story. We then worked with field experts to ensure the comic was culturally and medically accurate, which I then worked off of to create our final illustrations. Lastly, I composited all of our frames and added dialogue to include the story in our app.
